In the heart of the medieval village of Bormes-les-Mimosas stands a 17th-century building housing the Museum of History and Art (MHAB), a place dedicated to the region’s cultural and artistic wealth. Renovated in 2022, the museum invites visitors on a journey through 2,400 years of history—from the Roman era to presidential vacations at the Fort de Brégançon.
With the innovation of the HistoPad—a touchscreen augmented-reality tablet—the experience becomes interactive and immersive, offering 3D reconstructions, media, and archival images across fifteen thematic stations. The visit is punctuated by a garden with breathtaking views of the Golden Isles, enriching the experience with a stunning natural setting.
The museum pays tribute to illustrious artists such as Théo Van Rysselberghe and Henri-Edmond Cross, showcasing a collection officially recognized as a “Musée de France.” It also hosts temporary exhibitions and a variety of workshops, ensuring a dynamic cultural program throughout the year.
